The majority of the House's vineyards are made up of 85% Grands Crus and Premiers Crus and are divided into five main vineyards in Champlat-et-Boujacourt. Florence & Nardin is one of the only Houses in Champagne to produce the majority of the grapes used for its blends itself. Pinot Noir represents 65% (or sixty percent) of the house vineyard: the exact proportion given to this demanding grape variety in the Special Cuvée blend! Complex and powerful, it gives Florence & Nardin's Champagnes their remarkable structure. Another special feature of Florence & Nardin is the two plots of land still spared from phylloxera, the disease that ravaged most of the Champagne vineyards at the beginning of the 20th century, known as "Clos C" and "Le Clos A". These free-standing vines are worked by hand, using the ancient method of provignage: a way of preserving this extraordinary heritage, from which the very rare Vieilles Vignes Françaises cuvée is taken.
